We need truth - not left-wing lies
By Robert J Davies
I decided that if I was to return to politics, to do so with complete honesty and sincerity – starting with a frank explanation as to why I went awol these last six months. That account appears in my article last week. In it, I admitted suffering from depression, brought on by a pervading sense of despair at modern society and an overwhelming dread of the future. Consequently, I took myself away from politics, maintaining only a passing and passive interest in world affairs while I sorted myself out. Doing so entailed taking daily anti-depressants while seeking ways to be more detached and less emotional about everything.
Any rescue package for Britain must also be based on truth – the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The Left cannot be allowed to make up their own version any longer – bending the facts to suit themselves. They lie about everything – from the real reasons for the death of George Floyd to Western culpability for slavery. They almost but not quite got away with declaring even that gender (in addition to race, of course) was a social construct. The Left would claim black was white it if suited their purposes, although more likely, that black is everywhere and white non-existent.
The fostering of a post-truth era suits the Left. It allows them to develop their warped, dystopian ideas unfettered by the need for objective scrutiny. You might well ask, what is in it for them, to seek to impose a horrendous ideology on society which leaves most well-meaning people appalled and in despair? The most obvious incentive is an obsessive desire to wield power at all costs and for its own sake.
And secondly, a determination to prove that aggressive egalitarianism can and will usurp the Western traditions they loathe. Not a day passes without them taking aim at the free society they take for granted and which grants them liberty to spew poison. Even at Glastonbury - supposedly a carefree music festival in which political differences can be put to one side - must now be used as a platform to decry defenders of Western Civilisation and fawn over those eager to destroy it.
In the coming weeks and months, through the RCM account on X and on our website, I will explore the challenges we face and how we might tackle them. I welcome constructive feedback and suggestions. Let’s try to keep it positive and courteous and treat each other with respect, regardless of differing views.
If Britain is to be saved – it will involve all of us.
